When Medium began placing the “Give a tip” link at the bottom of articles, I ignored it. When I received my first donation August of last year, my heart swelled with joy. I didn’t ignore it anymore. It was five dollars, when I only expected one dollar; but it was five dollars earned because someone was touched by what I wrote.
Fast forward to today, I’ve contributed close to $60 dollars all together — I’m not bragging at all. As a whole, it may not seem like much, but I love when I can contribute to a creative trying to make it.

You see this line on most social platforms, especially on photography sites like Pexels and Pixabay. The slogan may be worded slightly differently, but you get the idea. The artists’ work is free, but a simple, small monetary token goes a long way.
“Ko-fi helps creators such as illustrators, podcasters and bloggers to fund their passions. Creators invite fans to visit their Ko-fi page where they can leave a donation (roughly the price of a coffee) and a message of support. In return they get a personal message back from the creator and can unlock exclusive content.”
