A Monosyllabic Kind of Love

Being in love is a risky affair(poem)

Image created with Canva

Step on my sad, sick heart
Then leave it pale and bare,
Burn down my cult of love
For you;
This hard-won affair.

Step on my sad, sick heart
Then cut it to shreds and toast
To the rhyme that bleeds
For a love that’s lost.

I attempted to create a poem out of words with one syllable only. What happened was a poem that guts the fantasy of love and makes it real…in my humble opinion.

Thank you for reading!
