May and June this year has seen a SIGNIFICANT decrease in earnings for me. Right around that time, I am reading Medium veteran writers’ glum stories of how Medium is changing and writers are not receiving the earnings they used to. I have not been here a year yet, but instead of berating you, I hope to encourage you.

After reading articles by top writers and from Medium’s Creator Hub, I learned a few things that we can all try. I even have a few of my own ideas.

1. Try keeping a notebook of how your articles are doing month to month

When I noticed a huge dip in earnings recently, I went to my Stats page and took a look at my articles.

This does not have to be complicated or something you need an Excel spreadsheet for (unless you wish to do so). Just take a look at your writings.

That’s all.

For me, I started with this January 2022 all the way through June, because the fluctuations began right in the middle. Basically a 6-month outlook.
