5 Tips for Redecorating Your Apartment Without All the Sweat!
You CAN create the charming rooms you want in no time
I am no interior decorator, but just like you, I don’t have a huge, large home(thankfully). I have a decent-sized apartment with rooms, appliances, and walls, and sometimes, I just want a good chance to revive the place, but nothing that will cause me to have to repaint walls, punch holes, or go broke.
Last year I made some much-needed atomic changes to my place and you can too.
1. Don’t throw out the couch! Dress it up!
There are times when throwing something old and useless away is beneficial.
But where there are couch covers, there is a way.
Our love seat is kind of old-fashioned and cream-colored but is the coziest couch ever. It is a bit tattered since we bought it used. So my husband and I looked up couch covers on Walmart and voila! We found a gorgeous one that was a nice gray color with a slightly bumpy Jacquard texture.
Immediately our couch went from “drab to fab” as the saying goes.
If you do not know how to put on a couch cover, YouTube is a great resource for this.

2. Change Your Accents!
Not your language of course, but your lampstands, vases, and other figurines around the home that need some pop of color or other strategic placement to revive your place.
For example, we have a table in our living room that was going to be used for electronics, but we already have one. After looking on Pinterest, I have now transformed the table to an “Any Season” table. For Christmas, I used it to place fake snow and a bowl of candies on top of, along with some snowflake stickers I found off of Amazon.
I literally recreated a Winter scene in one small corner of our apartment! To add a special touch, I placed one of my coloring pages into a picture frame and sat it on the end. Voila! Decorating done.

3. Speaking of flowers…
Adding a plant or two is great for decorating…
And your health.
Did you know that the Schflerra Capella plant promotes clean air by removing toxins? Studies show that it increases productivity in the office too.
Any plant brightens the room and gives it a pop of life.
Cost: Varies. Walmart has the Schflerra Capella plant for between $21-$30
4. Changing colors can bring about a great difference!
I stood in my bathroom one day and thought, “I need a pop of color! Something vibrant!”
Tip: Did you know, just making your bed every morning, will make the bedroom appear somewhat neater and refined? Try it!
The shower curtains were pretty standard, something from the Family Dollar. Nice, but pretty common.
During the pandemic, I couldn’t look at that or the guest bathroom any longer.
I went on Amazon and looked for bathroom sets. Something that will gauge my attention and it had to be a full set under thirty bucks at the most.
Let me tell you something. Redecorating was a snap! You literally get your two rugs, shower curtain and toilet top cover. Just those changes can make a bathroom look brand new.
This isn’t a novel idea of course. People probably do this all the time, but ordering an entire bathroom set without leaving the house is grand.
5. This little light of mine
Candles are beautiful additions to any room. Light a candle in a bathroom and you get a nice, romantic ambience. Just from a tiny fire. Even your living room and bedroom will feel and look different with a simple candle or two to accent the space.
