I couldn’t just color without being inspired to create my very own coloring book. I want to share with you how I’ve made my very own coloring book and it doesn’t take being a professional artist either!

Step 1: Decide what your theme will be, then start collecting

For this part, you are just brainstorming ideas. I’ve always loved coloring mandalas so that’s what I wanted to create.

Next, I had a small panic attack because, GOSH! I can’t draw like that. How in the world can I create a coloring book if I cannot draw! After Googling forever, I discovered that lots of people make coloring books without the skill.

Their secret was hunting down places like Creative Fabrica and purchasing royalty free images that become yours. The caveat is to “remix” the images so that they are unique and your own — legally. For my own coloring book, I actually did remix and use my imagination to create gorgeous mandalas.

Step 2: Use a PDF or Book Building platform

Hands down Canva was the BEST to use.
