3 Reasons I Am No Longer Writing On Simily
We parted ways amicably
I was only on there for over a week.
It saddens me to announce I have parted ways with the Simily platform. I published an article on Valentine’s Day on how I will not judge the new site harshly because it is new– and I stand by that, but there are a few reasons why I am no longer on the site.
1. Not enough engagement
If I am pouring my soul over fiction pieces, I’d like some engagement. Even if the writing is bad, some feedback would be nice.
I found some writers on there who manage to get “snaps” for their work. Not many, but at least they have readers. I have never been told my writing is bad, but I would have at least accepted some criticism.
All I heard were crickets.
2. Diversifying my writing platforms just got…hectic
Medium, is the main platform I write for. Happily.
There is much more feedback, much more immediate reciprocity. I do not know how Medium was before it became such a giant social writing platform but I do know that the traffic has been steady for many writers.
